BOOKS by Professor Mark McIntire

Powerful, practical, basic e-Textbook trains high school, college, and university students in the art and science of Critical Thinking and Writing. In three parts REASON ARGUE REFUTE trains the ideas, principles, and methods of traditional deductive logic and inductive reasoning guarantees valid and sound argumentation and refutation. Ideal for adult learners in business or personal enrichment studies. Previous printed editions used by thousands of critical thinking students globally. Professor Mark McIntire has over 15 years experience in online teaching in critical thinking and writing at Santa Barbara City College.

If you like reading a ruthlessly honest autobiography, then you will like this one. It's all here...the triumphs and the tragedies spanning my 81 years on this planet. Born in 1944 I've lived through the end of one World War, the rule of 15 American Presidents, the assassinations of both JFK and Martin Luther King, and for over 10 years performed a one-man-show, JFK: A TIME REMEMBERED. I've studied for the Catholic priesthood mentored by a future Pope, taught philosophy for 32 years, overthrown a college president who hired me, been elected to the Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors, served as senior political advisor to my friend Charlton Heston for 27 years, successfully argued the liberation of all American compulsory union members at the Supreme Court, and forced a $120,000.00 out of court settlement after the failed attempts of the communists at Santa Barbara City College to fire me from my faculty position of 23 years. Those are just some of the triumphs. There have been many tragedies as well. I lost my father to alcoholism when I was just 2 years-old, both my mother and my wife also drank themselves to death. My older brother committed suicide after he found out we did not have the same father. And, I've buried 3 lovers due to AIDS. So, I'm a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

As you will read, I am not a great historical person, yet I’ve known some of them personally. I’m not profoundly wise, yet I am clever of wit. I am not lewd, yet I am lascivious. I’m well educated, yet not the president of Mensa. I’m not holy, yet I am moral. I am not world famous, yet I’m notorious on two coasts. I am not a saint, just habitually human. I’m always alone, but I’m never lonely. I prefer to laugh, but I can still cry. That’s the how of this autobiography. Of consequence then, the title for this effort is Sleepwalking With Certainty. It is a study of my contraries and even my pathetic contradictions as I follow the lamp to my feet, as my soul trudges along its arc of spirituality in the grips of mortality while frolicking among the ruins.

Enjoy!

“We Can't Wait for Universities to Fix Themselves. So We're Starting a New One.” ---Paneo Kanelos,President of the newly launched The University of Austin in 2021

STOA Institute is a free portal-hub of the necessary and sufficient resources enabling parents, students, faculty, tutors, legislators, jurists, and media to facilitate creating new schools free from the politics of public education regulation, tax-funding, and teacher unions.  So, let us begin. Here is a free state by state database of organizations already creating new schools free of contemporary cultural wokeness as Charlton Heston warned in his 1999 Harvard Law School address in the video shared above.

So, here is a sample of the kind of resources STOA will share with you, our citizens, starting your own schools K-University free from government tax-funded agencies, regulations, and oppressions. It is a state-by-state searchable database for organizations near you that are already creating new schools though school choice legislation and policies with these resources:
